The Adobe Startup utility auto-launches the Adobe toolbar application add-in for Microsoft Excel. The add-in feature of Excel gives easy access for other software applications to perform tasks. The Adobe Startup toolbar displays on start up giving you option to save, customize and select PDF files or other Adobe application file types.The toolbar, depending on user preference, can create unnecessary clutter and slow down the Excel load up process. Users have the option of disabling it.

Instructions

      Open Microsoft Excel. Go to "Start" and click the Excel icon or click the desktop shortcut.

      Click the green "File" button. Click "Options" from the left handed menu. The Excel Options window displays on screen.

      Click the "Add-Ins" link. Click the "Adobe Startup" add-in inside the list box (under Active Add-Ins.)

      Click the "Go" button at the bottom right-hand side of the screen. Click the "Adobe Add-in" check box. Click the "OK" button.

      Close Excel.
