The Sony Vaio Docking Station VGP-PRFE1 provides a platform to connect peripheral equipment to a laptop computer without sacrificing portability. The Sony Vaio laptop connects to the docking station, which remains attached to external devices such as an LCD monitor. The VGP-PRFE1 offers two connection methods for an LCD monitor, via DVI (digital video interface) or S-video cable, depending on the available inputs on the monitor. Connecting the docking station and LCD monitor with either cable can be done easily.

Instructions

1. Unplug the docking station and LCD monitor power cords from the electrical outlet.

2. Align the pin configuration on one end of the DVI or S-video cable with the holes in the corresponding video input port on the back of the LCD monitor and push the plug straight into the port.

3. Connect the other end of the cable, DVI or S-video, to the matching output port on the back edge of the Vaio docking station.

4. Reconnect the power cords to the electrical outlet and power on the docking station and the monitor. Check to ensure that the monitor displays content from the laptop computer as desired.
