How to Find the Search History on a Computer

The search history allows you to find previous websites that you viewed and can list them as far back as several days, depending on your operating system. Windows and Mac OS both have this feature and it is kept in your history menu bookmarks bar for Windows.

Instructions

  1. Windows Internet Explorer

      Click the "Favorites Center" button.

      Click the "History" button.

      Click "Show All History." Scroll through the history list and click on the site you want to re-visit. These steps are the same for both Internet Explorer 7 and 8.

    Windows Firefox

      Click the "Firefox" icon.

      Click the "History Menu."

    • 6

      Click "Show All History." Click the day or month you want to view and then click on the website you want to re-visit.

    Mac OS X Firefox

      Click the "Firefox" icon.

      Click "History Menu" located at the top of the screen.

      Click "Show All History." Click "Today," "Yesterday" or "The Last 7 Days." Scroll through the list and click on the website you want to re-visit.

    Mac OS X Safari

      Click the "Safari" icon.

      Click the "History Menu" located at the top of the screen.

    • 12

      Scroll through the list of websites and click on the site you want to re-visit.
