How to Hook Up a Roche Fax Machine to a Computer
Fax machines have become important for businesses and homes to send documents electronically. All fax machines, regardless of age or model, can transmit to other fax machines. Each fax machine hooks up the same, by connecting a phone line or computer to the device. You only need a USB cable to connect the Roche fax machine to a computer to send/receive faxes.

Find the telephone port and the power cord for your fax machine. Connect your telephone line to the "LINE" port on the fax machine. Plug the fax machine power cord into an electrical outlet. Use a "USB" cable to connect the fax machine to the computer. Place the cable in the "USB" port of the fax machine, and connect the other end to the "USB" slot on the computer.

Prepare your computer to send and receive faxes. Click "Start" and select "Control Panel." Choose "Add or Remove Programs" under the "Control Panel." Select "Add/Remove Windows Components" to open the "Windows Components Wizard." Click the "Fax Services" box under the "Components" list. Click "Next" to install the fax component. Click "Finish" then "Close."

Configure the fax device. Go to the "Start" menu and click "All Programs." Click "Accessories" and then click "Communications." Select "Fax" and click "Fax Console." Select "Next" under the "Fax Configuration Wizard." Complete the "Sender Information Page" for information for your fax cover page. Click "Next" to open the "Select Device for Sending or Receiving Faxes" page.

Enable the fax to receive and send faxes. Click the "Enable Send" and "Enable Receive" boxes. Choose if you want the computer to allow manual or automatic answering. Click "Next" to open the "Transmitting Subscriber Identification (TSID)" page. Enter the fax number you want to send to in the "TSID" box and click "Next." Type your fax number in the "CSID" box under "Called Subscriber Identification (CSID)." Select "Print it" under "Routing Options." Click "Next" to open the "Completing the Fax Configuration Wizard" and click "Finish."
