How Do I Register a Corporation in Illinois Keeping the Owner's Name Confidential?
To become an Illinois corporation, the corporation must register with the state. Illinois has forms to help you register the corporation. These forms ask several questions about the corporation and the people who will run the corporation. As ownership goes, these forms only request the amount of shares the corporation will issue. The forms do not require disclosure of the owner in the forms. Incorporating can be a difficult process, so you may want to seek legal advice.

1
Complete the Articles of Incorporation Form you can download from the Illinois Secretary of State's website. Your initial registered agent is the person the state will have contact with. The purpose of the corporation can either be very broad or very narrow. Be aware, if you act outside the purpose of the corporation, then you commit an ultra vires act (go beyond the scope of the law). Make sure not to write the owner's name on the form if you want to keep his name confidential.

2
Write a cashier's check, certified check, money order or an Illinois attorney's or CPA's check payable to Secretary of State for the amount you determine appropriate on the form based on the type of corporation you will be registering.
