How do I Clear a Sandisk Ultra 2 CF Card?

Compact flash cards are larger than SD cards.

A SanDisk Ultra 2 Compact Flash (CF) card is created specifically for certain types of digital cameras. You notice that it is also larger than the SD cards that go in some cameras. These larger flash cards require a CF card reader. By using this reader in conjunction with your computer, you can clear all of the data from the card so you can start filling it with photos again.

Things You'll Need

• USB compact flash card reader

Instructions

1. Connect the flash card reader to your computer using an open USB port on your computer.

2. Insert the card into the reader and wait for it to be recognized.

3. Click "Start" and then "My Computer."

4. Open the "removable disk" drive. This is the flash card drive.

5. Highlight all of the items within the card.

6. Right-click on the items and select "Delete."

7. Wait for the files to be completely removed.

8. Safely eject the card and remove it from the adapter.

Tips & Warnings

• You can format a CF card when it's inserted in your digital camera. Look in the "Menu" settings for "Format." This will delete all information on the card and format it to the type of camera you are using.
