How do I Choose a Computer to Use for Flight Simulator Training?
People who want to earn a pilot's license must take a written test, log hours into a flight simulator, and spend time doing actual flying, both with an instructor and alone. If you want to get a jump on your pilot's training you can purchase your own flight simulator software and practice in the comfort of your home or school. Once you choose a specific fight simulator you must find a compatible computer that will provide you with an enjoyable learning experience.

Check the box of your software for compatibility. Software may be both Mac and PC compatible or may work with only one operating system. Some software works on any version of Windows, while others may require a specific version such as the Vista or Millennium editions.
-

Check the specifications of your graphics card. You want to use the computer with the best graphics card.

-
3
Choose a computer with a high amount of RAM. This should keep your game from suffering delays and make sure everything loads quickly.
-
4
Choose a computer with plenty of memory space available. Check the back of your software box to see how much memory the software requires.
-
5
Select the appropriate keyboard and mouse for your computer. You will want a connected keyboard and mouse rather than a wireless pair in order to avoid any minor lag.
-

Make sure the computer has enough USB ports. Some flight simulators use USB accessories such as joysticks.
-
7
