How to Find an Email IP
Finding the originating IP address of an email is a straightforward procedure. It is, however, accomplished in slightly different ways depending on the email client you use.

In Gmail

Open your Gmail account and navigate to the in-box .

Open an email by clicking on the subject title.

Click the triangle next to the "Reply" field and select "Show Original" from the drop-down menu.

Find the "Received: from" line in the now visible header to see the IP address.
In Yahoo! Mail

Open your Yahoo! Mail account and navigate to the in-box.

Right-click on the subject line of the email you want to inspect and select "View Full Headers" from the drop-down menu.

Find the "Received: from" line in the now visible header to see the IP address.
In Hotmail

Open your Hotmail account and navigate to the in-box.

Select the message you wish to view by clicking on its subject line in the left panel.

Click on the small downward-pointing arrow to the left of the word "Reply" within the subject header area.

Select "View Message Source" from the drop-down menu.

Find the "Received: from" line in the now visible header to see the IP address.

Tips & Warnings
While an IP address can be found in the header of all emails, it is not guaranteed to be accurate. In fact it is quite easy to "spoof" an IP address, making the information useless.
