How to Close Antivirus Software
Typically, it is not recommended to close or disable your antivirus software as these programs protect your Windows operating system from a variety of malicious programs. You can always temporarily disable your antivirus software and turn it back on later if your system's security is interfering with the installation of other programs. A simple navigation of your computer's Control Panel will enable you to close your antivirus programs and turn them back on whenever you wish.

Open your "Start" menu from the desktop.

Open the "Control Panel" from the list of options presented.

Open the "Security" icon by double-clicking it and then launch the "Security Center."

Select the "Malware Protection" tab.

Navigate the "Virus Protection" list to find your antivirus program.

Right-click your antivirus program and select "Disable" from the drop-down menu to close the software.
