How do I Care for a White Mericone Orchid?
Propagate a white mericlone orchid by taking a small tissue from the parent plant in order to produce another orchid that is exactly identical to the parent plant. These indoor flowering plants are expensive to produce and, therefore, more costly to purchase than a white orchid that was grown from a seed. Caring for a white mericlone orchid, however, is the same as caring for an orchid that wasn't cloned. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Place the orchid on a table by a window or on the windowsill that faces south or east so it will receive indirect sunlight. Make sure the leaves are not making contact with the windowsill. The leaves on the orchid should be light to medium green, according to the American Orchid Society. If they are darker, they are receiving too much sunlight and should be moved to another area.

2
Water the white mericlone orchid with lukewarm water once a week. Water early in the morning in the kitchen sink for 15 seconds, letting it drain through for 15 minutes or until all of the water has drained out before placing back in its location. Make sure there is a saucer underneath after replacing, just in case. Water the orchid only when the soil is completely dry.

3
Increase humidity for the orchid by placing it on a tray of gravel filled with just enough water so that the bottom of the container isn't touching the water. Orchids thrive in humid environments.
-
4
Fertilize the orchid once a month using a granular fertilizer made especially for orchids. Water first, followed by applying the amount according to the manufacturer's label on top of the soil. Water again to prevent the roots from burning.
