How to Make Anime Costumes at Home
Anime is a style of Japanese cartoons. There are several different kinds of characters and costumes, but the most common costume that comes to mind is the school girl outfit, with the black straight hair put in pigtails or some hair pulled up on either side of a middle part. This is normally a very sexy outfit, and so if you are going to make the outfit for a small child, you'll want to choose clothing that is longer than in the cartoon. Making this anime costume is easier than you might think.
Things You'll Need
- Plaid skirt
- Long or short sleeved white button down collared shirt
- Plaid or striped necktie
- White frilly socks
- Black school shoes
- Pink or red blush
- Brush
- 2 hair ties
- Sweater (optional)

Put on the plaid skirt. The skirt should be relatively short, but not revealing unless you put bloomers underneath.

Put on the short or long sleeved white button down collared shirt. If it is long sleeved, then roll the sleeves up to right above your elbow. You can also opt to cut the sleeves off if you do not plan on using the shirt for any other purpose, or if you do not have to return it.

Put the necktie on and tie it properly, but leave it loose so that the knot rests in the center of your chest. The shirt should be buttoned one or two buttons above the knot.

Put on the white frilly socks. Fold them down until the frills are touching your ankles. Then put on the shoes.

Put your hair in pigtails or split your hair in a part down the middle of the top of your head. Pull up just the hair on the top of your head to each side and tie them in half pigtails. If you have curly hair, you can straighten your hair with a flat iron if desired.

Complete the look with a sweater if the weather permits.
