Moultrie game cameras are used to photograph animals like deer and other game in their natural environment. The cameras are positioned on trees usually, near a popular feeding spot. The cameras use motion-sensing technology to capture the images. Night-vision technology like infrared is used to snap images in the dark. Preparation is important when setting the camera up. Using a Moultrie game camera can be successfully achieved by following some simple steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Identify the best spot for the camera. Look for sturdy trees that won't be swayed by wind or the deer brushing against them. Wind can cause fuzzy images and can also give false readings to the camera's sensor. Look for signs of feeding.

    • 2

Insert the batteries. Remove the two thumb screws and slide the battery door. Insert the SD (secure digital) card. The larger the capacity of the card, the more images you can take and the less careful you have to be about false readings.

    • 3

Strap the camera to the tree with the loop tape. Be sure not to point the camera into the sun. Keep in mind that the sun moves during the day and also during the season.

    • 4

Slide the camera's power switch to the "On" position and press the Mode button repeatedly until "Automatic" appears on the display. Leave the scene overnight and the camera should take images at every detection at 640x480 pixels, which is fine for e-mail and computer screens.
