How Do I Change a Remote Battery for a 2003 Saab Convertible?

A Saab convertible car remote typically operates within a range of 25 feet, and is able to unlock the car and set off the alarm in emergency situations. Car remotes operate by sending out radio frequency signals, and the weaker a battery is, the poorer the quality of the signal will be. You should change your car's remote battery when the operation radius is significantly reduced, which is estimated to be at about every three years.

• Replacement battery

Instructions

1. Turn on the car and look at the computer display on the dashboard. If the remote battery needs replacing, the screen will read "REPLACE KEY BATTERY."

2. Press a pin into the small hole in the side of the remote to remove the battery cover. On some remotes, you may have to remove screws on the back of the housing; on others, the back simply slides off.

3. Replace the battery. Replace the battery cover.

4. Press any key on the remote five times consecutively to reactivate it.
