How to Reset a Password for an Alarm System
If you ever find yourself without your alarm system password, you may feel that there is no way to reset it without the help of a paid technician. This is not the case, because all that it takes is removing the power from the alarm and entering in the manufacturer-specific installation code. Once you know the code required by your specific alarm system, you can reset the password without any professional assistance. Does this Spark an idea?

Look up the manufacturer's website and download the installation manual for your specific model alarm. You can usually find the model number underneath of the casing of the alarm unit. Enter the make and model into a search engine, such as Google, and press "Enter." The installation manual will show you where to locate the alarm's internal battery and power source connections.

Disconnect the power connections and take out the internal battery with a set of tweezers. If your alarm is wired to the house's power source, you will need to turn off the circuit breaker before disconnecting the alarm.

Replace the power connections and internal battery after five minutes.

Press and hold the *(star) and #(pound) keys for five seconds until the alarm has finished powering back up.

Input the installer code that is mentioned in the installation manual for your specific alarm system that you downloaded in Step 1. You should now be able to scroll through the various password setting options for your alarm and reset it.
