How do I Get Around Steam in Dow 2?

"Steam" is a digital software distribution program developed by Valve. "Steam" allows a user to purchase the latest in video games and download digital copies to his computer for play. When connected to "Steam," a computer automatically downloads and implements game updates. If you purchased a copy of "Dawn of War 2" (DOW 2) through "Steam," but do not wish to play while connected to the "Steam" network, get around it by setting "Steam" to offline mode. This helps prevent the automatic installation of game updates while playing the game.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch "Steam" by double-clicking on it's icon on the computer desktop.

    • 2

Click on the "Steam" menu located at the top of the "Steam" client, then click "Go Offline."

    • 3

Click "Restart in Offline Mode" to restart the "Steam" client offline.

    • 4

Locate "Dawn of War 2" in the "Steam" library and click "Launch." Now play "Dawn of War 2" while not connected to the "Steam" network.
