How to Apply Old Hag Halloween Makeup
Halloween is an especially fun holiday because it allows both children and adults to escape their otherwise normal lives to become something spooky, fabulous or just plain weird. One Halloween costume idea that's relatively easy to assemble is the "old hag" costume. A particular tricky part of this Halloween ensemble, however, is the makeup application. Fortunately, you don't have to be an expert to create an authentically "old hag" appearance on your face.

1
Pull your hair back and put on some clothing you don't mind dirtying. Stand in front a mirror with your Halloween makeup kit.
-
2
Apply a foundation that's one to two shades lighter than your normal skin color. Blend it evenly across your face and into your neck.
-
-
3
Dust your face with baby powder to make your face look even more pale and gaunt.
-
4
Draw dark lines on your face with a dark brown cosmetic pencil. Draw these lines on areas where wrinkles would typically accrue: around the lips, eyes, nose and forehead. Gently blend the lines with your finger or a makeup sponge so they're still visible, but not as harsh.
-
5
Use a gray or light brown tint around your eyes. Blend in until your eyes look more hollow and sunken in.
-
6
Apply a wart or other blemishes with a makeup kit. For a DIY wart, apply a thin layer of liquid foundation or skin glue where you want the wart to go. Place a puffed wheat cereal on top. Coat with additional foundation.
-
7
Add another layer of baby powder to your face and blend.
