Prepare the appropriate paperwork for the state in which you were convicted and provide picture identification. You will also need to pay the applicable court fees. You will then be provided with a court date.

Attend court. After you have been provided with a court date, the appropriate court is notified. In addition, notification is sent to the original victim, or victims, in the case. Your information such as your address and telephone number, as well as any other pertinent information, will be updated at this time.

Review the court order to ensure it was undertaken accurately. Court records are checked to determine if there are any bench warrants or summons outstanding in the case. The appropriate courts are sent certified copies of the order to have your records expunged. At this point, the record for the case is then sealed. It is important to recheck statewide criminal records in four to six weeks to ensure the information that was to be expunged from your records was done.
