Adding Lowe's hanging cabinets will increase the versatility and storage of any room. They are mounted to the wall using grabber screws. The cabinets are usually 12-inches deep and have adjustable shelving. They can be bought in any color or wood species. You can buy them unstained and finish the any color you like. They come in 3-inch increments so you can fit them to any room.
Things You'll Need
- Stud finder
- Tape measure
- Power drill
- Grabber screws, 2 1/2-inch long
Slide a stud finder along the wall to locate the wood studs. When a stud finder is directly over the stud, it will light up or beep. Mark the location of the stud using a pencil.
Measure how far each stud is from the corner of the room. They should be roughly 16 inches apart on center.
Transfer the location of the studs to the inside of the cabinet and make a mark. This will allow you to know where to place your grabber screw.
Mark the location of the cabinet on the wall. It is helpful to mark a straight line on the wall where the bottom of the cabinet will be installed.
Hold the cabinet into position. If you have another person, have them steady the cabinet while you level it with a level.
Fasten the cabinet to the wall using grabber screws and a power drill. Place screws in the back of the cabinet near the top and bottom. Install two screws through the cabinet at each stud.
When installing the next cabinet, screw the two cabinets together using grabber screws. Continue in the same fashion.
