How to Use One Wallpaper on Multiple Screens thumbnail
Pictures of landscapes are commonly used as wallpaper images.

A wallpaper image is an image that is displayed in the background on your computer screen behind the icons. When users hook up multiple monitors to one computer, they often display the same image on each monitor or different images on each monitor. A less common option is to display the same wallpaper image over all the monitors. In other words, one giant image. Note that the steps in this article apply to the Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click on the desktop background and select "Personalize" from the context menu that appears.

    • 2

      Click on "Desktop Background."

    • 3

Select the wallpaper image that you want to spread across multiple screens. Note that the wallpaper image should be at least as wide as the combined resolution of the multiple screens that you want to use. For example, if one monitor is 1280 x 1024 and the second monitor is 1280 x 1024, you will want to select an image that is 2560 x 1024 or greater.

    • 4

Select "Tile" from the drop-down menu under "Picture Position."

    • 5

Click "OK." The wallpaper image is now displayed across multiple monitors.
