Purchase a hair product to spike your hair with. Use hair gel if you want to style your hair with smaller, looser spikes. For larger spikes you will need to use either hair cement or hair glue. Hair cement or glue should also be used if you have long or thick hair. These hair products can be purchased in the hair and beauty section of most drug or department stores.

Wash your hair thoroughly with shampoo, then towel dry it. Your hair will need to be clean and damp, but not dripping wet.

Rub the hair product on your fingers, then apply the product to your hair by pulling sections of your hair upward from root to tip. For larger spikes, apply the product to larger sections and twist the tips of the spikes. For looser spikes, pull the hair up in smaller sections.

Continue molding the spikes until you are satisfied with your hair style. Let the spikes dry and harden for 10 minutes without touching them.

Tips & Warnings
You will be able to spike your hair in less than a minute, but it will take 10 minutes for them to fully harden. Other tasks can be performed while waiting for the spikes to harden.
Hair spray can be used to hold the spikes for an extended amount of time.
