How to Apply Blush on a Forty Year Old Woman
Blush is used to recreate a flushed look. This flushed look is used by many women because it makes you look rosy and youthful. However, as you start to age, your skin is different. Your skin at 40 is much different than your skin at 20. As you age, skin can become wrinkled and dry. Because of this, it is especially important for women over 40 to prepare skin before applying blush. Wash and clean skin with a gentle cleanser.

Apply a moisturizer with SPF to your face. Allow moisturizer time to be completely absorbed by your skin.

Apply your concealer and foundation as usual.

Use a blush brush. Tap or sweep the brush onto your powder blush a few times.

Examine your face to find out where you naturally blush---the apples of your cheeks.

Sweep the blush brush around the apples of your cheeks and towards your temple. Blend completely.

Tips & Warnings
Cream blush typically looks more natural than powder blush. Cream blush can also look more youthful than powder blush.
Drink at least eight to 10 glasses of water every day in order to hydrate your skin.
