How to Stop Restart After Blue Screen

When your computer encounters an error serious enough to trip the "Blue Screen of Death" error, the default action of Windows is to automatically restart the operating system. This makes troubleshooting the error difficult due to the brief time window you have to examine the error before the computer restarts. Changing the settings of the computer disables this automatic restart.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your "Start" menu, click on the "Control Panel" and enter the "System" section.

    • 2

Click on the "Advanced System Settings" link and then click on the "Startup and Recovery" section.

    • 3

      Click "Settings."

    • 4

Uncheck the "Automatically restart" option and click "OK" twice.
