BigPond is Australia's leading Internet service provider. It is a subsidiary of Australian telecom giant Telstra and provides cable, DSL, wireless, satellite and dial-up access to its customer base. If you subscribe to its services and would like to send a fax using your Internet account, you will need an additional email-to-fax subscription, which can be provided to you by a third party.

      Register an account with an email-to-fax service. These services will automatically convert your emails into faxes that can be sent directly to a fax machine. There are dozens of services to choose from. Some of these include FaxZero, MyFax and PopFax. As of 2010, these services are free or cost $15.95 a month.

      Place the document that you want faxed on a flatbed scanner. Scan it and save it as a PDF file to your desktop.

      Log on to your BigPond Internet account. Open up your Web browser and create a new email. Click on "Attachments" and find the PDF file that you created. Click on it and wait for it to upload. Once it has attached itself, type in the fax number of the recipient, followed by the email address that you obtained from your service, in the "To" section. Send the email, which will be converted into a fax.
