Immigration departments stamp empty pages on your passport.

You need empty passport pages to travel internationally, writes the "LA Times." Apart from a visa, which countries only rarely provide as a separate document, you need empty pages for immigration stamps on arrival. Many countries refuse entry if your passport has no empty pages.

If you've filled your passport, you needn't apply for a new one immediately. Instead, order additional pages. The service costs nothing.

Instructions

    • 1

Download an application for additional visa pages here: http://travel.state.gov/passport/forms/ds4085/ds4085_2662.html

    • 2

Fill out the form. Sign and date it at the bottom.

    • 3

Post the completed form and your passport to the National Passport Processing Center at PO Box 90106, Philadelphia, PA 19190-0106.

Tips & Warnings

  • For faster service, mark your envelope "expedited" and include a $60 money order payable to "Department of State." Ship to PO Box 90906, instead of 90106.

  • The State Department recommends a traceable shipping service such as USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation.
