How to Install an Eagle Fish Finder Transducer
Fish finders use sonar to find the location of fish and determine the depth of the water you are fishing. A transducer transmits and receives sonar waves. When the transducer receives the sonar waves, the information relays to the display of a fish finder. Interference from air or turbulence causes improper transducer readings. Installing the transducer in a location free of turbulence will ensure that you receive proper water depth and fish locations.

1
Launch your boat in a body of water.
-
2
Fill a lower portion of your boat hull with two inches of water.
-
-
3
Drive your boat at speed while an assistant holds the transducer under the water and against the boat hull. Look at the picture displayed on the fish finder. Have your assistant move the transducer until the display shows a clean picture with no static or lines.
-
4
Mark the location of the transducer with a wax crayon.
-
5
Turn on the boat's bilge pump to remove the water from the hull.
-
6
Mount the transducer. Wipe the marked area of the hull with a dry rag. Sand the marked area with 80-grit sandpaper if the hull is not smooth. Mix slow set epoxy. Pour the epoxy onto the marked area. Allow the air bubbles to disperse from the epoxy. Press the transducer into the epoxy. Push the transducer to the hull. Allow the epoxy to cure for 24 to 48 hours before using your boat.
