How do I Convert the Dollar to Roubles?

How do I Convert the Dollar to Roubles? thumbnail
Rubles come in coin and paper denominations.

Russia uses the ruble or rouble (RUB) as its standard currency. The modern ruble replaced earlier forms of the ruble due to high rates of inflation during the early 1990s, and new ruble banknotes came out in 2001 with better security features. To ensure accuracy when you convert dollars into rubles, you'll need to use the latest exchange rates, which change daily.

Instructions

    • 1

Find the latest exchange rate between rubles and dollars (see Resources). In our example, imagine that the exchange rate was $1 per 30.42 rubles.

    • 2

Multiply the number of rubles you want to convert by the exchange rate you found in Step 1. In the example, if you had $100 you wanted to convert, you would multiply 100 by 30.42.

    • 3

Change the units on the product you found in Step 2 to rubles. In the example, your converted total would be 3,042 rubles.
