Create a strong resume when looking for a transportation crew position

When applying for a job as a flight attendant, railroad crew, or any other position in the transportation crew job sector, writing an attention-grabbing resume is a vital step in getting noticed and landing an interview. Take care in formatting your resume in a way that best shows off your career thus far; for example, if you are new to the industry but have important and relevant certification and/or education, include this information as the first section of your resume.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a new document and create a centered header. Include your name and all of your contact information.

    • 2

Write the titles for the sections you want to include in your resume. Most transportation crew resumes feature a "Career Objective," an "Education" section, an "Experience" section, and one to two extra sections like "Awards," "Skills" or "Interests." Write the objective title first, followed by either education or experience, depending on which you believe is more your strong suit.

    • 3

Write a statement beneath "Career Objective" that explains specifically what type of transportation crew member job you are interested in and why you believe you are an ideal candidate to perform that work.

    • 4

Write in your education information, including only degrees or certificates relevant to your field, such as flight school, management, or business.

    • 5

Write in your work experience, beginning with the job you currently hold and continuing backwards chronologically. Include the name of the company, your official crew title, the window of time you held the position and a bullet-point list of duties you were responsible for at that position. Begin each point with an action verb, such as "administered," "served" or "trained."

    • 6

Write in the appropriate information for your other sections. Consider including any other skills you have that are relevant to the job, such as whether you are fluent in a second language.
