How do I Install a 3312 Serial Cable Driver?

Install drivers for your serial to USB cable connection.

The 3312 serial cable is a serial to USB cable adapter. The device allows you to connect serial-based hardware directly to the computer, even if the computer doesn't have an actual serial port connection. However, because you are converting the serial connection to a USB connection you need to install the adapter's drivers onto the computer. This driver is provided with the cable in a driver installation CD.

Instructions

1. Attach the USB end of your serial cable into a USB port on the computer. Insert the serial end of the adapter cable into the serial connection port on the hardware you are connecting to the computer system.

2. Insert the driver installation CD into the disc drive of the computer and wait for the installation wizard to load onto the screen.

3. Click "Next," then accept the end user agreement and click "Next" to continue. Don't alter the "next to installation location."

4. Select "Install" and the driver for the 3312 serial connection cable installs onto the computer system.
