How to Draw a Tool Chest
A tool chest is a large metal container designed specifically for tools. Tool chests have wide, flat drawers for holding and displaying tools. These boxes are usually taller than they are wide, with wheels on the bottom for limited mobility. Conventionally, tool chests are painted red or black, or a combination. When drawing this subject, be sure to use a ruler to draw clean, precise lines.
Instructions
-
-
1
Draw a rectangle, 1 inch wide and 1.5 inches tall. This is the outside of the tool chest.
-
2
Draw a rectangle inside the rectangle you drew in Step 1, leaving 1/8 of an inch of space between the inside rectangle and the outside rectangle.
-
-
3
Draw four horizontal lines, 1/4 of an inch apart, stretching all the way across the inside of the rectangle you drew in Step 2. The bottom line will be 1/4 inch from the bottom of the rectangle, the second line will be 1/4 inch above the bottom line, and so on. These are the drawers in the tool chest.
-
4
Draw two circles, equal in circumference, one located at each corner of the bottom exterior rectangle. These circles represent the wheels of the tool chest.
-
5
Color the tool chest red, with gray drawers and black wheels.

Tips & Warnings
This is a very basic tool chest, suitable for a cartoon or a diagram drawing. Add extra details for a more elaborate drawing. For example, add a handle to each drawer, or give the chest a 3-D quality by drawing a side and top receding into a vanishing point.
