Download and install the first anti-virus program, following the on-screen instructions for installation. This anti-virus program should have active protection as a feature.

Shut down the first anti-virus program.

Download and install the second anti-virus program, following the on-screen directions for installation. This anti-virus program should not have active protection as a feature. If it does, change the program's settings so that the active protection feature does not automatically start up when the program is opened.

Shut down the anti-virus program without active protection (or with it turned off) and restart the one with it (or with it turned on).
