Recycle the old printer ink cartridge after replacing it with a new cartridge.

The HP Officejet 7310 is an all-in-one color printer that provides both color and black and white copying and printing services. This printer can also scan and fax documents in color to supply a variety of office and home document reproduction and transmission needs. Changing the ink cartridges is a simple process, but it is important to have the correct cartridge to prevent damage to the printer or problems with printing functions.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the protective tape strip that is covering the print head of the new cartridge.

    • 2

      Power on the printer.

    • 3

Open the cover of your printer, and wait for the carriage assembly to stop moving.

    • 4

Open the cartridge latch by pressing on the top of the latch and then pulling out the bottom of the latch. The cartridge will then be free to slide outwards.

    • 5

Slide the old print cartridge out of the printer, and place it in a print cartridge recycle bag.

    • 6

Slide the new cartridge into the open slot, and replace the cartridge latch.

    • 7

      Close the printer cover.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check the Sure Supply database and the project specifications list in Resources to verify that you have the correct print cartridge for your printer.

  • Do not touch the copper strips on the bottom of the new print cartridge since this can cause future clogs and printing errors.
