How to Put the F11 Function in Web Pages

The "F" keys that run across the top of your computer's keyboard (numbered "F1" through "F12") are known as function keys because pressing them causes the computer to perform an action, or function. Some of the function keys can be quite useful. The "F11" key, for instance, causes the window that you are working in to go into full-screen mode, hiding the toolbar and enabling you to see more of the window on your computer screen. This is ideal for small computer screens or Internet browsers that have numerous toolbars installed.

Instructions

    • 1

      Launch your Internet browser.

    • 2

Navigate to the Web page that you want to view in full-screen mode.

    • 3

Press the "F11" key. The Web page now fills your whole computer screen, enabling you to see more of it.

    • 4

Press the "F11" key again to exit full-screen mode.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to access the toolbar, scroll over where it would normally be at the top of the screen and the tools will appear.

  • Not all Internet browsers support the "F11" function key.
