How to Make an Automatic Marshmallow Gun
PVC pipe and marshmallows can turn a rainy afternoon into a day of wild adventure. Just watch out for those sticky marshmallows. This simple-to-construct automatic marshmallow gun requires one trip to the hardware store and a session in the workroom with a hacksaw under the supervision of an adult. Construct a bunch of these guns for a birthday party activity guaranteed to be a big hit. Equip each guest with a marshmallow gun and a bag of mini-marshmallows, and let the games begin.
Things You'll Need
- 25 inches schedule 40 PVC pipe, 1/2-inch inner diameter
- Hacksaw or pipe cutting tool
- 2 PVC elbows, 1/2-inch inner diameter
- 2 PVC T-fittings, 1/2-inch inner diameter
- 2 PVC end caps, 1/2-inch inner diameter
- Mini-marshmallows

Cut the PVC pipe into six 3-inch lengths and one 7-inch length with the hacksaw or pipe cutter.

Insert one 3-inch length of pipe into a T-fitting. Insert a PVC elbow on the other end of the pipe. Insert another 3-inch length in the open end of the elbow. Lay the structure on a flat surface with the last inserted 3-inch length facing left.

Insert two 3-inch lengths of pipe in the open ends of the T-fitting, facing to the left and to the right. This is the central line of the gun.

Insert an elbow on the open end of the left 3-inch pipe. Insert another 3-inch pipe into the other end of the elbow, facing downward, and cap it with an end cap.

Insert a T-fitting on the right-facing 3-inch pipe in the central line. Insert a 3-inch pipe facing downward and cap it with an end cap.

Insert the 7-inch length of pipe in the open end of the central line T-fitting, facing to the right.

Tips & Warnings
To use the gun, place one or more marshmallows in the far right pipe opening. Blow into the upper left pipe opening.
