How do I Hook Up 2 Receivers to 1 HD Direct TV Dish?

Connect your satellite dish to multiple receivers.

When using a satellite dish for television programming, you can connect up to four different receivers to the dish. However, in order to connect more than one receiver, your satellite dish must have the desired number of receptor arms attached. This installation is done by the satellite company, so once the satellite dish is set for two or more receivers, all you need to do is properly connect the equipment together.

Things You'll Need

• 2 HDMI cables
• 2 HDTVs

Instructions

1. Connect the coaxial cable running from the first satellite arm connection into the "In" port on the HD receiver.

2. Attach the first HDMI cable into the "HDMI Out" port on the HD DirecTV receiver. Plug the other end of the cable into an "HDMI In" port on the HDTV.

3. Repeat the connection process with the second television and the second HD DirecTV receiver.

4. Power on an HD receiver and the high-definition television connected to it. Once both are on, select "Input" on the television, then choose "HDMI" for the high-definition DirecTV programming to appear on the programming screen.

5. Repeat Step 4 for the second receiver and TV.
