How do I Attach a Lens Filter to a Sony DSC-H7 Digital Camera? thumbnail
Attach the filter directly to your camera lens.

The Sony DSC-H7 is a fixed lens digital camera that offers many of the same features as a digital SLR. This includes threading on the front of the lens, allowing you to add additional filters to the camera. Filters are helpful at blocking out UV light from the camera and even adding effects and color to captured images, without the aid of Imagine editing software.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a 37 mm lens filter. This is the overall size of the camera lens. The lens is smaller than a standard SLR camera, so purchasing the wrong size is going to prevent it from threading onto the camera.

    • 2

Position the lens filter on top of the camera lens. The bottom of the filter has small groves that thread into the camera's lens.

    • 3

Twist the lens filter clockwise to lock it into place. Turn until it no longer turns to the right (do not force it further as it may damage the filter and the lens).

    • 4

Repeat the process with any other lens filter you want to add to the Sony DSC-H7.
