How do I Move Windows Between Multiple Screens Without Minimizing Them?

Found This Helpful

Navigating around the computer desktop can seem like a maze with multiple windows open. Minimizing every single window to simply get to the desktop can take precious time you would like to spend working or relaxing. After all, every minute adds up. To switch between windows, you don't have to go through the trouble of minimizing. Instead, there are a series of keyboard shortcuts that allow you to switch between all open windows quickly and without even touching the mouse.

Windows

  1. Press and hold "Alt" and "Tab." This will bring up a small window with all open programs.

  2. While holding "Alt," press "Tab" repeatedly until you reach the program window you would like to switch to. Pressing "Tab" once will open the window to the first program to the right.

  3. Let go of both "Alt" and Tab." Letting go of both keys will open the window you selected. If you selected the wrong window, or would like to switch back, press and hold "Alt" and "Tab" again.

Mac

  1. Press and hold "Command" and "Tab." The command key has a small apple logo on it. It is used in many keyboard shortcuts in place of "Ctl" or "Alt."

  2. While still holding "Command," press "Tab" repeatedly until you reach the program window you would like to switch to. Pressing "Tab" once will open the window to the first program to the right, etc.

  3. Let go of both "Command" and Tab." Letting go of both keys will open the window you selected. If you selected the wrong window, or would like to switch back, press and hold "Command" and "Tab" again.
