How to Check for Missing Windows Files

Missing Windows operating system files can cause all types of havoc to your operating system, ranging from random error messages to complete system crashes. Check for and repair missing Windows update files by using the Startup Repair utility within your operating system. This scans the hard drive for problems with the Windows system files, repairing any issues that are found.
