How to Remove Trojan Horse Generic 10 FX

Trojan horses are malicious software, usually bundled with legitimate programs that are downloaded into your computer. Once these programs are downloaded, the Trojan horse is released. Generic Trojan-horse programs can download other malicious software onto your computer, take control of certain aspects of your operating system or record keystrokes made to steal passwords and other information. Microsoft has a free anti-virus program called the Microsoft Security Essentials that removes these threats from your computer.

Instructions

1. Acquire the Security Essentials application by going to the Microsoft Security Essentials site (Resource section has site link), then clicking “Download Now.” Click on “Save” when prompted and select a destination for the application file.

2. Double click the application file to begin the installation process. Select your version of Windows and click on “Yes.” Click “Next” when you finish reading the Microsoft product agreement.

3. Click “Validate” to confirm your current Windows operating system. After the application installation is over, it will update automatically. Allow this process to finish before proceeding.

4. Click the “Home” tab and click on “Full” to confirm a “Full” scan of your computer. Click “Scan” to initiate the full scan. When the full scan is complete, click the “Clean Computer” button to get rid of the Trojan generic 10 FX from your system. Afterwards, reboot.
