Using Olympus Master

Insert the Olympus Master CD-Rom that was included with the camera into your computer.

Follow the on-screen instructions to install Olympus Master to your computer.

Turn off the camera and ensure it is turned off by checking the monitor and lens. If the monitor is off and the lens is retracted, the camera is turned off.

Connect the USB cable to the camera's multi-connector and your computer's USB port. The camera will start up automatically.

Choose PC from the menu displayed on start-up.

Give your computer a moment to recognize the camera.

Open Olympus Master.

Click on "Transfer images," then "From Camera."

Select the desired destination Album, or click "New Album" and enter an album name to make a new album.

Tips & Warnings
Always make sure that the card access lamp on the camera has stopped blinking before disconnecting the camera. Failure to do so can corrupt the files, and your pictures will be irrevocably lost.
Follow safe USB removal practices, and click on Unplug or Eject Hardware from the system tray, then wait for the computer to indicate it's okay, before unplugging the cable. This will prevent data loss or corruption.
Olympus Master is an entirely optional program. If you don't want to use it, there is no requirement to do so in order to enjoy your photos.
When buying an Olympus FE-340 second-hand, make sure the cable is included. If you can't obtain the cable with the camera, you will need to find or purchase a USB download cable, model CB-USB7.
