How Do I Convert a WordPerfect Document Into a Word Document for Free?

It's easy to convert a WordPerfect document to Microsoft Word.

Corel WordPerfect and Microsoft Word are two different types of competing word processing software programs. A WordPerfect document can be converted to MS Word for free by resaving it as a different type of file. Although the documents created with these programs are similar, formatting changes may take place when converting a file from WordPerfect to Word. In order to avoid formatting problems and data loss during the conversion, you will need to convert the document to the rich text format before converting it to a Word document.

Instructions

1. Open the document in Corel WordPerfect.

2. Save the document in rich text format, with a file extension of .rtf.

3. Open Microsoft Word.

4. Open the rich text file that you just saved. Under the File menu, click on "Open" and search for the file. Click on the file when you find it, and it will open in MS Word.

5. Save the document as a Microsoft Word document with a file extension of .doc.
