How to Autopost to Twitter
Auto posting to Twitter saves time and ensures keeping all your followers up-to-date on the newest available information you are sharing. Taking the time to set up the accounts necessary to be able to auto-post takes a little longer in the beginning, but saves you lots of time in the end, so it's well worth doing.

Open the Twitter website and set up your Twitter account. Locate the "New to Twitter" block located on the right side of the homepage and click on the big, bold, "Sign Up" button. Fill in your name, as you want it to appear on your Public Profile, followed by the Username you prefer, email and password, and click on "Create my account." Make note of your Username and password because you are going to need it to access your account, as well as set up the next, auto-posting step.

Go to the Posterous website and set up an account. Send an email to post@posterous.com from the email you want associated with your account. Posterous will automatically set up your account and emails you your http://yourname.posterous.com website URL. Respond to their authorization email and you are ready to go.

Add your Twitter account to Posterous. From your new Posterous website URL find the "Autopost" tab, located right above "Post by web," and open to reveal the bright green "+Add a service" button. Clicking on that button will open a dialogue box. Select the Twitter icon and another dialogue appears. Click on the "Link" button. Twitter will ask for permission for you to access the account, asking if the application, Posterous, can access and update your data on Twitter. You will be advised to "Sign out" if you want to connect to an account other than the one designated. Select "Allow" so that Posterous may link with your Twitter account. You can add any other social websites to you Posterous account, including Facebook, Flikr, and a number of blogs.

Auto posting to Twitter is now as simple as sending an email to twitter@yourname.posterous.com, where yourname is replaced with your name associated with your Posterous account. If you prefer to auto post to all the social networks and blogs that you have added to your Posterous account, you simply send an email replacing "twitter" with the word "post." You can now auto post to twitter from any device that can access your email, including smart phones and iPads.
