How do I Use Bluetooth to Share Ringtones Between Phones?

Bluetooth is a wireless technology that allows for data transfer between two devices. Popular smartphones such as BlackBerrys, Droids and iPhones are all Bluetooth-enabled and allow you to send pictures, ringtones and other bits of data from phone to phone as well as connect to wireless accessories such as hands-free headsets. You just need to be within range of another Bluetooth phone in order to send and receive the data.

Instructions

1. Enable Bluetooth on both phones. This will vary depending on the make and model of your cell phone, but generally you will need to go to the connections menu and enable Bluetooth.

2. Select the ringtone that you want to transfer on your source phone and bring up the item options menu.

3. Select the "Send" option from the menu and select "via Bluetooth."

4. Select the device that you want to send it to, which will be the other phone.

5. Choose the option to receive the ringtone on the receiving phone to accept the incoming piece of data.
