Sweep a light-colored eye shadow from your lash line all of the way up to your brow bone. This color should be close to your natural skin color. Look for colors such as champagne or cream. Use an eye make up brush with soft hair to apply it.

Apply a medium-colored eye shadow on your upper lid, in the crease of your eyelid. Sweep it just upward from the crease. Follow the crease and blend this medium color into the lighter color. The color that you choose for your medium color can vary, but all shades of brown work well, as do shades of purple.

Use a small eye makeup brush to apply a dark shade of eye shadow to your upper lash line. Apply it to the lower lash line as well, if you like. Some options for a dark shade to use are black, charcoal gray or deep brown. When applying it, sweep it across the lash line and blend it so that it isn't a harsh line.

Apply two to three coats of mascara to your eyelashes. Brown mascara tends to be flattering for most skin types. When applying it, place the mascara wand at the base of your lashes and wiggle it back and forth. Brush the wand upward and coat the underside of your lashes. Apply the mascara to both sides of your eye lashes.
