How do I Load a DVD Onto an iPod Touch?

DVDs are a popular form of media storage and can be easily saved to an iPod Touch.

The iPod Touch is a great device for taking your media library on the go. Copying your personal DVD library to the iPod Touch is a handy way to keep your all-time favorites with you anywhere you go.

Instructions

1. Download HandBrake, a free utility for video conversions (see References).

2. Open HandBrake. A window will immediately ask you for the project's source. Select the DVD you wish to convert.

3. Select iPhone & iPod Touch from the presets in the right column. This will optimize the video for your device's screen.

4. Click on the green "Start" button to begin the conversion. Save the video to a location that is easily accessible, such as the desktop.

5. Drag the converted video into your iTunes library.

6. Attach your iPod Touch and synchronize to copy the movie.

Tips & Warnings

• Dragging the converted movie to your iTunes library copies the file. The original file can be deleted from the desktop.
