How Do I Refill Lexmark 2500 Cartridges?
The Lexmark 2500, also known as the Lexmark X2500, is an all-in-one model of home desktop printer that utilizes the Lexmark 28 and Lexmark 29 inkjet cartridges to produce black-and-white as well as color documents. If the ink in your Lexmark x2500 printer has run out, you can refill the cartridges from your home instead of purchasing entirely new replacements. Thankfully this process is straightforward and easy to accomplish.
Things You'll Need
- Inkjet refill syringe(30 cc)
- Black printer replacement ink
- 3 Inkjet refilling syringes(10 cc)
- Cyan printer replacement ink
- Yellow printer replacement ink
- Magenta printer replacement ink
Instructions

1
Place the Lexmark 28 and 29 cartridges on an open surface with the labels facing upward. Protect the surface with newspaper or paper towels.
-
2
Remove the Lexmark labels from the top of both cartridges.
-
-
3
Fill your 30cc inject refilling syringe with 15 ml of black inkjet printer ink.
-
4
Force the tip of the syringe into any of the refill holes on the Lexmark 28 cartridge and slowly inject the 15 ml of ink to refill the cartridge.
-
5
Fill three of the 10cc syringes with 7 ml of the colored inkjet printer ink. Each of the syringes should hold a single color so that there is one syringe filled with magenta ink, one filled with cyan ink and the third filled with yellow ink.
-
6
Position the Lexmark 29 cartridge so that the word "Lexmark" is upright on the top surface of the cartridge. Notice the four refilling holes arranged in a rectangular pattern: two by the top and two by the bottom.
-
7
Insert the yellow refilling syringe into the hole to the bottom left, the cyan syringe into the hole to the bottom right and the magenta syringe to the hole to the top left.
-
8
Slowly inject the ink of the three syringes into the Lexmark 29 cartridge. Once you are finished refilling, remove the syringes and return both the Lexmark 28 and 29 into the Lexmark x2500 printer.
-
9
Wait eight hours before resuming printing with the cartridges.
