How to Get an URL Code for Flash

How to Get an URL Code for Flash thumbnail
Find URL codes for Flash files by visiting websites.

Finding the uniform resource locator (URL) of an Adobe Flash file is easy. Your Web browser is already capable of viewing the source code of Web pages that you visit. To find the file's URL address, you just need to find the .swf extension in the code of the page on which you see the file. This extension denotes a published Flash file, which should bring you straight to the Flash URL.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your Web browser and navigate to the page that displays the Flash file for which you need the URL code.

    • 2

Right-click the page and click "View Page Source." A long list of code in a text document pops up.

    • 3

Press "Ctrl" and "F" simultaneously. A Find window opens. Type in ".swf." The tool automatically finds any instance of Flash that appears on the page. You may need to press "Next" several times to find the URL of the exact Flash object that you need (one Web page may contain multiple Flash elements). You should now have the Flash URL code.
