How do I Download Movies on a Second Generation iPod?

The iPod Touch is the only iPod that allows you to purchase and download media directly from the iTunes Store app on the device. The iPod Touch is also the only iPod device with wireless Internet capabilities. To download movies on a second-generation iPod Touch, first connect to your preferred wireless network. This allows you to access the iTunes Store search for your favorite movies.

  1. Connect to the Internet

      Press the "Home" button on your iPod Touch.

      Slide your finger across the unlock bar at the bottom of the screen to unlock the device.

      Tap the "Settings" icon.

      Select the "Wi-Fi" tab from the top of the page.

      Slide the "Wi-Fi" switch from "Off" to "On." The device will search for your wireless network.

      Select the wireless network you want to join from the list that appears. Enter the pass code for the network if prompted.

      Tap the "OK" button that appears.

    Download Movies

      Press the "Home" button to return to your iPod Touch home screen.

      Tap the "iTunes" icon. The iTunes Store will launch.

      Select the "Movies" tab from the top of the page that loads.

      Tap the "Search" option at the bottom of the page.

      Tap in the search field at the top of the new page that appears. Your keypad will activate.

      Enter the title of a movie you want to download. Then press the "Search" button. A new screen will open listing your results.

      Tap the icon of the movie you want to download. This will take you to the movie's information page.

      Enter your Apple ID password in the prompt that appears. Then click "OK." The movie will download to the "Videos" app on your iPod Touch home screen.
