How do I Download & Watch a Film on BitTorrent?
BitTorrent is a file sharing protocol that allows large files to be downloaded quickly by distributing the connection across many users. That means that when you download a torrent (the name of a file used by BitTorrent) you are connecting to many users to download the content simultaneously from all of them. So if one of the hosts goes offline, you can continue to download your file from the other hosts on the network. You use a BitTorrent client, which is a separate program, to handle the downloads. You are responsible for checking files for viruses and making sure you are obeying copyright law; there are no protections built into BitTorrent. Use it at your own risk.

1
Download a BitTorrent client. You can find a link to the most famous, "BitTorrent," in the Resources section of this article. Once you have downloaded the file, open it to install the software. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

2
Search for BitTorrent files. The files will have the extension of .torrent after the name of the file. You can use the search feature at ClearBits.com (specializing in torrents that do not violate copyright laws) or any other search engine to find the torrent file for your movie. Open the file you downloaded to launch your BitTorrent client and start downloading the movie.

Open the movie you downloaded by double-clicking on it. This should launch your computer's default media player. It can occasionally happen that your media player does not have the most recent codecs (methods for reading video formats) and won't be able to play the file. If this happens you can download the VLC media player (found in the References section of this article); it contains all of the latest and greatest codecs available.
