How do I Change the Password to an AT&T 2Wire Wireless Router?
Reliable security is an essential part of any wireless network. If your router's password is compromised, your network may be at risk. The AT&T 2Wire Gateway wireless router comes equipped with a convenient password reset function that allows you to change the device's password without resetting the whole system. This is important because you can keep your system settings intact and won't have to reconfigure the router.

Open a Web browser and navigate to the 2Wire user gateway. See "Resources" for a link.

Click the "System" tab in the gateway interface when it loads.

Select the "System Password" option.

Click the "I Forgot the Password" link on the password entry page. A password hint prompt will appear.

Select the "I Still Can't Remember the Password" link in the hint prompt. The Reset System Password page will open.

Enter your router's 10-digit system key in the "System Key" field. You can find this number on the bottom of your router.

Input a new system password in the "Enter New Password" field. Re-enter the new password in the confirmation field.

Click "Submit."
