How to Make Acne Go Away With Products Around the House
Clearing up pimples should be easy with all of the acne products on the market, yet those products can be harsh on the skin, causing redness and dryness, and making the skin more susceptible to developing acne. Common household items can be used to treat acne, and they are gentler on the skin and often more efficient at clearing up blemishes. Keep in mind, the best prevention for acne begins with drinking plenty of water and eating a wholesome diet. So, open up your kitchen cabinets and get started clearing up those pimples.
Things You'll Need
- Baking soda
- Bowl
- Washcloth
- Oatmeal
- Apple cider vinegar
- Cotton balls
- Potato
- Knife

Wash your face with a mixture of baking soda and water to clean the skin. Mix 1/4 cup of baking soda with 3 to 4 tbsp. of water to make a paste. Apply to dampened skin, avoiding the eye area, and let set for about 10 minutes or until dry. Wipe off gently with a wet washcloth and pat skin dry. Wash with this gentle cleanser twice a day.

Mix 1 cup of oatmeal and about 1/4 cup of water to form a thick paste. Apply the oatmeal mask to freshly washed, dry skin and let dry for about 10 to 20 minutes. Avoid the eye area. Rinse off with warm water, being careful not to let the oatmeal go down the sink drain, which can cause clogged pipes. Pat the skin dry. Use this mask three times a week.

Combine 1 cup of water with 1 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar in a small bowl. Dip a cotton ball into the mixture and dab onto the acne. Apply twice a day after washing or after using a mask.

Cut a small potato in half and rub the cut side of one piece over any places with acne. Do this each night before bed if there is any acne. The raw potato works to kill bacteria that causes the blemishes, helping to reduce them.
